I'm sure by now you all have heard me talk about school and me doing my school work. So guess the cat is out of the bag! I'm in school!!! Wait wut, yup. I took a year off when I graduated high school because I had no idea what I wanted to do and I really wasn't interested in anything. Then suddenly this fell in my lap. Yep dog grooming! I'm literally so excited and I don't think I've ever been so passionate about anything ever like I am about this. Animals have been my life for so long and I have no idea why perusing a career with animals never came to mind but here I am now! I've never met a dog I didn't instantly fall in love with, so I am beyond ecstatic for this journey! I'm attending the Nash Academy and I'm on schedule to be finished by October! I'm about to start my next round of classes and then after I finish that I start my hands on training! So I'll explain it a little better, I could technically go to Petsmart today with no background and have never groomed a dog in my entire life and I could apply to be a groomer and they would hire me and teach me at Petsmart. I'm going to school so that I will be certified and being certified means that I get the title of dog stylist instead of a dog groomer. That also entails that I can groom show dogs that compete. And I'll be trained to recognize anything wrong with your pet. If they have a skin irritation, if they are showing signs of malnutrition, if they look like they have a disease, if a disorder is present, all of that stuff I should be able to recognize. At first I was like why in the world do I need to know all the stuff I had to take a chapter on all the bones in the dogs body and all the muscle systems and the skeletal systems and I was just really confused as to why this would help me groom a dog. Turns out it doesn't help me groom a dog but it does help me ensure the health of the animal. I should be able to notice if there is something wrong and then let the owner know so they can go to the vet! I'll actually be able to treat a couple things myself so you don't even have to go to the vet! I'm very excited so if you're local and have a dog let me know! I'd love to be your groomer!
